What do you do with all this stuff you create?!!!

I'm calling this Saturday Scoop!  Every Saturday, I'll pick a random idea to share with you.  It could be anything from great books to read with preschoolers to writing ideas to organizational ideas - whatever fun things I find!

Someone asked me what I do with all these arts and craft projects we create!  Well, I definitely do not keep them all!  I think when you do art with preschoolers, it is more about the process than the finished project.  Working on projects gives little ones the opportunity to grow in fine motor skills and sequencing skills.  Also, if you are able to step back and allow them the chance to create (instead of dictate!), you will be amazed at what they will come up with!  Sure, we love to make cute things to give to others, but I also want them to experience the excitement that comes with creating something of their very own!  I remember taking a creativity course in college.  I wish I still had the book (I can't even remember the title), but it talked about creating and getting into the "flow" - working on something and being so completely caught up in it, that you don't even realize how much time has passed!  I guess I really want my girls to realize that in order to create anything of value, the process can be a little (or a lot messy) -- and I want them to feel okay with that!

With that being said, I have a few ideas for "what to do with all this stuff".  Obviously, grandparents like to receive art! We have given some to residents at nursing homes.  We have given some to our neighbors.  The girls have special hooks in their rooms to hold artwork they create.  We leave it there for a while and then switch it out.  If it is something they really love, we take a picture of it and put it in a photo album or put it in a special keepsake box.  I saw a really neat idea to scan some artwork, choose several pieces, and make a poster out of it.

I'm wondering what do you do with yours?!!

I love those ideas. Right now, I just trash stuff unless it's one of those 'keepers' and I throw it in the keepsake box in the top of the closet. But, I'm really trying to declutter right now and I like the idea of hooks in the bedroom! and maybe a small shelf!
