Saturday Savings: Halloween Costumes

I'm still debating what to do for Halloween.  Should I make the girls' costumes?  Should I buy them?  I just don't know.  So, I've been looking at a few online stores to see what, if any, deals are happening.

Diapers.com has 20% off ALL Halloween costumes and FREE 2 Day Shipping.  Use the code SPOOKYSALE (expires 9/27).  I love this Smiley Cow costume from Carters!

While I'm thinking about it, I also saw that Diapers.com has 30% cash back on diapers.  The cash back can be used on items from Diapers.com and Soap.com.

Costume Express is running a promotion on clearance costumes.  Enter the code 20EXTRA at check-out to get 20% off clearance costumes and free shipping (on orders over $75).  I found these cute Jack and Jill costumes for $5.99 each!

Oriental Trading has some inexpensive costume ideas.  They offer several hat and vest costumes (like this kangaroo priced at $2.99) as well as complete costumes.  Check them out for other Halloween party and craft ideas as well.  They currently have free shipping on orders $49 or more.

Have you seen any great deals, or do you have any homemade costume ideas you'd be willing to share with me?!!

Family Fun had some great ideas. I'm making my girls costumes this year. I'm making a tutu for each of them. One is going to have pinks/black tutu and wear a pink leo and a headband with cat ears. One is going to be Hannah Montana dressed up for Halloween with a black and orange tutu (still have to find a blonde wig) Lastly, my youngest is going to where a black/orange tutu and maybe a crown and carry a wand. Hope you all have a great time making/finding costumes.

My plan is to make my 2 1/2 year old a monkey. I can't afford the fabric so I'm hoping to get some dye-able sweats and dye them brown. I'll knit him a hat with monkey ears and make him a curly tail (probably put some wire in it).

Whenever I see a cute costume at a thrift store, I buy it! Dress up is fun for the kids on any day. It could work for some people to simply swap costumes with friends who also have their kids' former Halloween gear.

I love making costumes, but I've bought some too when there's a great deal! Here's a semi-tutorial on how I made a parrot costume (with an embedded link to some of our family themed costumes & another one I made)!
