Tasty Tuesday: Valentine's Day Biscuits

This simple idea for heart-shaped biscuits is perfect for a Valentine's tea party (or just for dinner)!

Supplies:
Biscuit dough
Rolling pin
Cookie cutters (I noticed my favorite set is marked down today on Amazon!)
Baking pans

1)  Roll out the biscuit dough.  Cut with cookie cutters!

2)  Bake according to dough directions.  Spread with jam or honey!

3)  If you don't have heart cookie cutters, roll the dough like a "snake" and form into a heart shape.  Bake according to dough directions!

Since my oldest daughter has milk and egg allergies, we use a simple baking powder biscuit without milk added.

My favorite biscuit recipe:
2 cups flour
1 T. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1 t. salt
1/3 cup oil
2/3 cup water

Mix dry ingredients.  Add oil and water to the mixture.  Stir until moistened.  Knead for a minute of two.  Roll out on floured surface (about a 1/2 inch thick).  Cut out biscuits with cookie cutters or biscuit cutter.  Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
