Shopping Trip!
Someone asked yesterday if I would share the details of my shopping trip for school supplies (for my girls and our Operation Christmas Child boxes) after I got my list together. I made two stops today at Wal-Mart and Dillons.
I wrote down just a few of my favorite prices at Wal-Mart:
$0.15 Spiral-bound Notebooks (70 pg)
$0.25 Elmer's Gluestick (2 pk)
$1.00 Crayola Colored Pencils (12 pk)
$1.00 Crayola Watercolor Paints
$1.00 Crayola Classic Markers (but check out my deal at Dillons!)
$0.25 Composition Notebooks
$1.50 Fiskar Child Scissors
$1.00 Calculator
$0.84 Clasp Envelope (6ct) - regularly priced at $2.47
I had a great trip at Dillons. I spent $5.50 and got back a $2.00 catalina, so I spent $3.50 for 3 boxes of Crayola Washable Markers, 6 boxes of Crayola Crayons (24 ct), and 3 packages of Paper-mate pens!
The catalina was $2 off a $10 purchase or $4 off a $20 purchase of Expo, Paper-mate, Mead, Sharpie, Crayola, Avery, Five-Star, or Uniball. I still haven't quite figured it out, but my guess is that the Crayola Washable Markers added up as regular price for the catalina (even though I still got them for $1).
I'm heading to Dollar General and Apple Market (IGA) later today, so we'll see what I can find! Have you found any great buys?!!

Hey... Walgreens has some good pricing... There's one in Ark City, right? I guess it depends on what is needed, but I bought this today: 12" wooden ruler - .09, small school box - .49, 2 pack pink eraser (penway brand) .29, folder w/ pockets - .09, 15 ct. pencil top erasers .39, Bic brite liner 5 pack highlighers - .49... They also have backpacks $9.99 - b1g1

What a great idea to start collecting for the Operation Christmas Child boxes! My kids love to pack these each year, but I never plan this far in advance.
Thanks, Mary! Those are some great prices! I'll have to sneak down there and check it out!
I just filled an extra tote bag with the extra stuff we got for the shoeboxes! I'm so excited to be doing it so inexpensively! We should be able to pack a few more boxes this year!
Great finds! I love to see pics of shopping trips! Thanks for sharing! How awesome to show others a great way to help those in need in an inexpensive way!
What a wonderful idea to put school supplies in the Operation Shoeboxes! Our Awana does this, so I'm going to make some too! Walgreens does have weekly/monthly great sales & will even clearance most stuff left right as school starts.
Here is my post about school shopping this week.
