Faded Sun Prints

See if your child can figure out what will happen when you leave these prints in the sun!

You will need:
Two pieces of cheap construction paper (not the fade-resistant kind)
Scissors
Tape

1)  Cut shapes or a design out of the middle of a piece of paper.

2)  Tape the cut piece of paper over a dark-colored piece of construction paper.

If cutting shapes in the middle of the paper is too hard, cut shapes out of paper and tape them on the construction paper.

3)  Hang in the sunlight for several days. I had my girls predict what they thought would happen.

4)  Remove the top piece of construction paper or the smaller taped pieces.  Discuss what happened and if the child's predictions were accurate.

We had a quick vocabulary lesson when Princess said, "Wow! The sun invaded the paper."  She meant faded!
